Taytay – The San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish (SLRP) officially commenced its annual Lakbay-Panalangin (Prayer Journey) on the morning of June 7, 2025, in preparation for the upcoming feast of its patron saint, San Lorenzo Ruiz.
The solemn celebration began with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Melchizedek de Lara at 8:00 a.m. at the parish church. The event was well-attended by parishioners, who gathered in devotion and spiritual unity to mark the beginning of this sacred tradition.
The Lakbay-Panalangin, a ritual that symbolizes the community’s collective prayer and pilgrimage, involves the image of San Lorenzo Ruiz being enshrined in the parish for a week. Following this, the image will be transferred to a different chapel, continuing its journey across various communities within the parish jurisdiction.
This tradition serves not only as a spiritual preparation for the feast day but also as a means of fostering a deeper connection among the faithful through prayer and communal worship.
