San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish Leaders Join Formation on Christ-centered Communication

Taytay, Rizal – On July 19, 2025, members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) and Chapel Pastoral Council (CPC) joined a formation at the Old Church with the theme “From Discord to Dialogue: Practicing Christ-centered Communication.” The goal of the event was to help parish leaders improve the way they communicate by focusing on*active listening, empathy, and speaking the truth with love.

The formation started at 12:00 PM with preparations and registration. Fr. Von Calipes, PSDP gave the welcome remarks, followed by an icebreaker activity called “Positive Circle” led by Aira Mae Gino, PPC Secretary. This helped the participants get to know one another better.

A talk was given by Rev. Fr. Jefrey Singzon, PSDP on how to apply Gospel values in our communication, especially when working in ministry. After the talk, participants were divided into small groups to share their own experiences—times when communication helped or made things difficult in their service. They also talked about how to practice better listening and empathy in the community, all while enjoying some snacks.

Later, the groups came together for a big group sharing. Some volunteers shared their group’s insights, and the hosts gave a summary of the lessons learned and encouraged everyone to take action in their own ministries.

The event ended with a closing prayer led by Sis. Gloria Fernando from Family and Life Ministry. This activity aims to help parish leaders build stronger relationships and to remind everyone that good communication should always reflect the love and teachings of Christ.
