Blessed Peter To Rot Parish Welcomes Fr. Marvin, Fr. Fernando, and Others
Malmal, Papua New Guinea: Some days after their stay in Rabaul, Fr. Fernando Speranza, PSDP, Fr. Marvin Tadena, PSDP and the rest of the PSDP Religious in Papua New Guinea (PNG), travelled to Malmal, Pomio District, PNG for their next visit. It is there that Blessed Peter To Rot Parish is located.
After their arrival, they immediately went to the rectory of the parish. Fr. Alito Cangayo, PSDP, the parish priest, toured them around the vicinity and offered them hospitality. After spending some moment of rest, they celebrated the Holy Eucharist in their private chapel in thanksgiving to the Lord for their safe journey.
The following day, Fr. Marvin, Fr. Fernando, and the two new Indian PSDP religious namely, Fr. Wilson Minj, PSDP and Fr. Sabu Abraham, PSDP were introduced to the parish community where they were met with enthusiasm and joy.
Malmal Parish is named after Blessed Peter To Rot, a Papua New Guinean catholic and catechist who was martyred during the Japanese occupation of PNG. His feast day is celebrated every 7th of July in the Diocese of Rabaul and across PNG.
