Conclusion of the Year of the Poor

Calbayog City: November 21, 2015, CKC Gymnatorium - the Diocese of Calbayog, Diocesan Catechetical Ministry held the Culmination Program for the Year of the Poor participated by seminarians, catechists and Parish Religious Mandated Organizations.

The event, which marked the official conclusion of the Year of the Poor, started with a parade. It was was followed by a program jam-packed with presentations, testimonies and a Siday competition where six contestants strived for the gold. It was ended with the awarding of winners and words of thanksgiving from the people behind the event including Bishop Isabelo Abarquez, the Bishop of Calbayog.

In his closing speech, the Bishop articulated that the Year of the Poor must not just end there. In fact, its legacy must be carried on the celebration of the 2015-2016’s Year of the Eucharist and Family and Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.
