Our Lady of Assumption Parish Gathered for Second Day of Novena in Honor of St. John Calabria

Caburan, Jose Abad Santos – The Calabrian Family and parishioners gathered at Our Lady of Assumption Parish, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, for the second day of the novena in preparation for the Feast of St. John Calabria on October 8. The evening celebration began with the Novena Prayer at 5:15 PM, followed by the Holy Eucharist at 5:30 PM, and concluded with the veneration of the First Class relic of St. John Calabria.

The Mass was presided over by Fr. Mark Jergfel Dancel, PSDP, with Fr. Marc Yape, PSDP, as co-celebrant.  The event highlighted the Calabrian Family’s unity as members and friends came together to honor St. John Calabria. After the Mass, the faithful reverently lined up to venerate the First Class relic of St. John Calabria, a moment marked by prayer and gratitude. The evening concluded with a group photo of the Calabrian Family, symbolizing their shared mission and joy in celebrating their founder’s legacy.

The novena continues daily until October 7, preparing the community for the Feast Day of St. John Calabria on October 8. Parishioners are invited to participate in the coming days as a way of strengthening faith and fostering the Calabrian spirit of service and trust in Divine Providence.
