Nazareth Formation House Begins Triduum Novena Mass for St. John Calabria

Calbayog City, Philippines — October 5, 2024. Nazareth Formation House celebrated the 7th day of the novena in honor of St. John Calabria and began the triduum Mass series leading up to his Feast Day on October 8. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jude Austero.

In his homily, Fr. Jude spoke about the power of making choices that reflect love and service. “We are the product of our choices. Choose to be thankful, choose to be grateful, and always choose the poor because the face of God is the face of the poor — ang mukha ng Diyos ay mukha ng dukha,” he shared. He reminded everyone of St. John Calabria’s example of choosing to serve the poor and trusting in God’s Providence.

The triduum Mass was attended by the Calabrian family, devotees, and visitors who gathered at the Nazareth Formation House Chapel. With only two more days remaining, the triduum is meant to prepare the community spiritually for the Feast Day of St. John Calabria, reflecting on his mission of unity, charity, and service to those in need.
