Friday of the Passion of the Lord Celebrated in San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish

Taytay, Rizal—The solemn observance of the Friday of the Passion of the Lord was commemorated at San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, beginning with the Via Crucis from Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel at Lakas Bisig to San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, accompanied by the live performance of the Theatro de San Lorenzo Ruiz Youth Ministry.

The day’s Solemn celebration started at 6:00 in the morning, followed by the 7 Last Words of Jesus presented by WESTVYFLA, who shared their reflections on the sacred messages.

At exactly 3:00 PM, the Divine Mercy Prayer was offered, which was followed by the Liturgy of the Word, Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. The solemn celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. John Mark Regañon, PSDP, alongside Rev. Fr. Marvin Tadena, PSDP, Rev. Fr. Ronnie Lapara, PSDP, and Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Eborde, PSDP.

After the liturgical celebration, a procession of the Santo Entierro and Mater Dolorosa followed. Santo Entierro, which translates to "Holy Burial," is a tradition that commemorates the Passion of Christ and the mourning of His death, deeply ingrained in the faithful's reflection on His sacrifice.

The day's Solemn commemoration drew deep devotion and reverence from San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish community, marking a significant moment in the observance of the Sacred Paschal Triduum.
