Calabrian Religious in CDO Engage in a Spiritual Exercise

Cagayan de Oro City—In this season of Advent, the Church enters into an atmosphere of preparation for the Lord's coming. This is a solemn time of renewal wherein the Church waits in hope and anticipation for the Lord’s glorious return in his second coming. In his Bull of Indiction for the Ordinary Jubillee Year of 2025 entitled, Spes Non Confundit, Pope Francis explains that “Christian hope does not deceive or disappoint because it is grounded in the certainty that nothing and no one may ever separate us from God’s love.”

          With a spirit filled with hope, the Religious Sisters, Brothers, and Priests of the Poor Servants of Divine (Calabrians) in Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) convened yesterday, 4thof December 2024, in the religious house of the Calabrians in Brgy. Bayabas, CDO for their advent recollection. Rev. Fr. Isagani Autentico, PSDP, the community superior of the Calabrians in Lumbia, CDO, their facilitator, invited his fellow religious to enter more devoutly in the spirit of advent through prayerful discernment of the manifold ways by which the Lord reveals and speaks to them through the ordinary and extraordinary events in their lives.

          This recollection is made in preparation for their upcoming renewal of vows on 8th of December 2024 in the Religious House of the Calabrians in Brgy. Lumbia.

          After going through this spiritual exercise, the Calabrian Religious are reinvigorated and spirited to continue their mission through the many apostolates they perform in the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro.
