Calabrian Family Launches Preparations for Agora Celebration

Taytay, Rizal – The Calabrian Family in the Philippines officially began preparations for the celebration of Agora during an initial online meeting held on January 21, 2026 via Zoom. The gathering brought together priests, religious, and lay collaborators to outline the vision, direction, and key preparations for the nationwide event.

Sr. Rosella Chiavegatto, PSDP emphasized that Agora is a formative and unifying experience for the entire Calabrian Family. Fr. Caster Von Calipes, PSDP shared that Monthly Calabrian Formations will serve as the primary preparation, with topics and materials to be provided as a guide for all regions.

Participants discussed the need for regional representation, target participant numbers, and accommodation planning, particularly for the culmination in Cagayan de Oro. The concept of Pre-Agora activities in each region was also introduced to help lay Calabrians experience the spirit of Agora ahead of the main event.

Several committees were formed to handle program, logistics, liturgy, documentation, food, and accommodation. The Core Group will meet every 15 days to monitor progress and finalize preparations in the coming months.
