Cagayan de Oro City – The Calabrian Family in Cagayan de Oro City convened yesterday, 8th of October 20205, at Fr. Luigi Pedrollo Formation House, Brgy. Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City to joyfully celebrate the feast of St. John Calabria.
Rev. Fr. Miller John Masillones, PSDP led the eucharistic celebration with Archbishop Emeritus Antonio Ledesma, SJ, DD and some other priests as concelebrants. In his homily, Fr. Miller asked the assembly, “What type of Christians do you want to become?” In response, he proposed that, as Christians, we should be truly servants of God trusting in God’s providence and seeking God’s Kingdom here on earth.
After the mass, a sumptuous meal was prepared for everyone’s fill.
Truly, this event remarkably shows the unity of the Calabrian Family. Calabrian priests, religious brothers, and sisters, the laity – who in one way or another is connected to our mission in CDO – came and honored the life and legacy of St. John Calabria, a saintly priest.
We continue to honor him by bearing witness to the living rule of holiness that he bequeathed the Calabrian family.
May St. John Calabria intercede for us, now and forever!
