Taytay - The Vicariate of St. John the Baptist in the Diocese of Antipolo led a powerful and heartfelt novena on October 20 in anticipation of the solemn declaration of the St. Paul of the Cross Shrine-Parish in Marikina as a Minor Basilica. The significant event was marked by the active participation of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, with approximately 80 attendees joining the spiritual gathering.

Rev. Fr. Melchizedek de Lara, PSDP, parish priest of San Lorenzo Ruiz, led the activity alongside religious brothers and sisters, and members of the parish community. The evening's program began at 4 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, a prayerful reflection that set the tone for the evening's events.

Following the Rosary, the participants took part in a procession around the parish grounds, an act of faith that united the community in celebration and prayer. The procession was followed by a solemn Holy Eucharist, where attendees gathered for the sacred rite of communion and reflection.

To conclude the event, the parish offered packed dinners to participants, allowing the faithful to continue sharing in fellowship after the day’s spiritual observances.
