Calbayog City – Fr. Fernando Esperanza, PSDP Vicar General, together with Fr. Marvin Tadena, Delegate of PSDP in the Philippines, visited Nazareth Formation House from March 17 to 20, 2026. They were warmly welcomed by the religious and aspirants, who prepared a heartfelt program with songs and expressions of joy and gratitude.
During their stay, Fr. Fernando and Fr. Marvin spent time with the religious, joined outings and bonding activities, and encouraged the aspirants in their journey of vocation. He reminded everyone that a vocation is more than study or routine—it is a journey of faith, prayer, and openness to God’s will.
A special moment was when Fr. Fernando gave the aspirants small pendants of Pope Leo XIV, personally blessed by him, as a sign of faith and trust in God. He also received the aspirants’ prayer intentions and personally brought them to the tomb of St. John Calabria, linking their prayers to his example of holiness and service.
The community was also grateful to friends and families who welcomed Fr. Fernando and Fr. Marvin with meals, showing care and support that made their visit even more meaningful.
In his final homily during the last Mass, Fr. Fernando encouraged everyone to live with gratitude. He reminded them to treasure the gifts of life: faith, the gift of life itself, the teachings of St. John Calabria, and the precious gift of vocation. Formation is not only about study; it is about discovering and following God’s will in every part of life.
Truly, their visit was not just fraternal communion, but a grace to embrace, live by, and treasure. It inspired the aspirants and religious to grow in faith, gratitude, and joy, and to live their vocation with dedication and purpose.
