Tree Growing at Nazareth: A Commitment to Faith and Stewardship

Calbayog City: Today, 10 August 2024, the aspirants at Nazareth Formation House gathered for a special Mass at the grotto, honoring Mary and celebrating the feast of St. Lawrence, a deacon and martyr. Both Mary and Lawrence are shining examples of love and service, inspiring the aspirants in their formation journey.

Following the Mass, the aspirants participated in a simple yet meaningful ceremony where they planted African talisay trees. These trees symbolize more than just a keepsake of their time at Nazareth; they represent a commitment to God, the Calabrian family, and the environment.

Inspired by St. John Calabria’s deep faith and trust in God’s providence, the aspirants recognize that caring for the earth is an integral part of their spiritual formation. Just as St. John Calabria trusted in God's care, the aspirants are encouraged to be faithful stewards of creation, knowing that their efforts are in line with God's will.

Alongside the newly formed ecological committee, each batch planted these trees, signifying their dedication to nurturing God's creation. As these trees take root and grow, they will stand as living symbols of the aspirants' faith, love, and commitment, ensuring that their journey at Nazareth bears fruit that will last for generations.
