Calbayog City – The community of PSDP Nazareth Formation House—religious and aspirants—joins the Synod of the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) of the Diocese of Calbayog on March 13–14, offering their presence and service in this important gathering of the local Church.
The Nazareth Formation House community serves as the choir for the two-day synod, animating the liturgical celebrations through prayerful songs. They lead the music during the Opening Mass presided over by Bishop Isabelo C. Abarquez, which gathers BEC leaders and members from different parishes of Vicariate I of the Diocese of Calbayog.
After the Eucharistic celebration, participants take part in a prayerful walk toward the Convention Center, where the synod sessions are held. The gathering continues with conferences, dialogues, and sharing of experiences. Members of the Basic Ecclesial Communities from different parishes actively participate in the discussions, sharing their experiences of faith, service, and pastoral life in their local communities.
Aside from serving as the choir, the PSDP Nazareth Formation House community is also entrusted with preparing and leading the Rite of the Bible Enthronement, highlighting the central place of the Word of God in the life and mission of the BEC. The rite reminds participants that the Word of God guides and strengthens communities as they live out their faith and mission.
Through their participation and service, the PSDP Nazareth Formation House community expresses its solidarity with the Diocese of Calbayog in strengthening the Basic Ecclesial Communities as a living expression of the Church—walking together in faith, listening to one another, and responding to God’s call in the life of the community.
