Calbayog City, Samar — More than 300 faithful, friends, and members of the Calabrian Family gathered at Nazareth Formation House on October 8, 2025, to celebrate the Feast and 152nd Birthday of St. John Calabria, founder of the Poor Servants of the Divine Providence (PSDP).

The celebration was highlighted by a solemn Eucharistic Mass presided over by Most Rev. Isabelo C. Abarquez, D.D., Bishop of Calbayog, with several concelebrating priests. In his homily, Bishop Abarquez encouraged everyone to follow the example of St. John Calabria—trusting in Divine Providence, loving without limits, and serving with humility and joy.

After the Mass, guests shared in a simple dinner and a heartfelt tribute program prepared by the formators and aspirants of Nazareth Formation House. Through various performances, the aspirants expressed their gratitude to God and to all who journey and share in the Calabrian mission, showing that service and thanksgiving go hand in hand.

In his message of gratitude, Fr. Jeffrey Singzon, PSDP, Rector of Nazareth Formation House, expressed the community’s deep appreciation to all benefactors, friends, and members of the Calabrian Family who supported the celebration. “Words may not be enough to express how grateful we are, yet we remember you all in our prayers and Holy Masses, asking the Lord to bless you with good health, peace, and the fulfillment of your intentions,” Fr. Singzon shared.

He also emphasized that through the generosity and presence of many, “the Gospel was not only proclaimed but truly lived.” The celebration became a testimony of faith, unity, and trust in God’s providence—values that St. John Calabria lived and taught.

As the evening concluded, the Nazareth Formation House community renewed its commitment to continue the mission of making God’s love visible in the world—trusting in Divine Providence, loving without measure, and serving with joy and simplicity.
