Holy Thursday Celebration

Calbayog City – On Holy Thursday, the community gathers at 5:30 PM for the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. This celebration remembers two important events: the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood. Jesus shares His Last Supper with His disciples, giving His Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine.

After the homily, the rite of the washing of the feet takes place, showing the call to serve with love and humility.

After Communion, the Blessed Sacrament is transferred in a solemn procession. Many come to adore Jesus in the Altar of Repose. The faithful also visit other churches for Visita Iglesia, praying and reflecting on the Passion of Christ.
