Calbayog City: Last Saturday, 07 January 2023, St. Anthony de Padua Mission Center was canonically elevated as a Parish. Rev. Fr. Richard Tan, then administrator of Mission Center is also made its first Parish Priest. The celebration was led by Most Rev. Isabelo C. Abarquez, DD, Bishop of Calbayog.

The newly elevated parish is located in Brgy. Carayman, Calbayog City. It was then a mission area of the PSDP Religious and aspirants (Calabrians) from 1998-2007. Back then, the PSPD priests regularly celebrated the sacraments with the people of Carayman and the aspirants used to give catechesis to the children; conduct series of formation sessions with the youth; and facilitate bible sharing with the adult and elderly. Needless to say, it has once become a source of aspirants to religious life. In fact, Fr. Jeffrey Singzon, PSDP, is also a native of the said place. Now that it already became a parish, the PSDP Congregation rejoices with the people of Carayman in this very significant milestone.
