Buon Viaggio, Fr. Christopher!

Taytay: After having spent more than two months of holidays, Fr. John Christopher Acebuche, PSDP, will be returning back to his mission assignment in Molmol, Diocese of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea. He is scheduled to travel with Fr. Marvin Tadena, PSDP, delegate superior of the Calabrians in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea (PNG) tonight at 9:45 PM, 11 August 2024. They are expected to arrive tomorrow morning in PNG.

Fr. Fernando Speranza, PSDP, Vicar-General of the PSDP Congregation is also travelling with them for PNG. He and Fr. Marvin will pay a visit to the community of Blessed Peter Torot Parish, Molmol where Fr. Alito Cangayao, another Filipino missionary, serves as parish priest.

Yesterday, two Indian Calabrian priests, namely, Fr. Wilson Minj, PSDP and Fr. Sabu Perumpallithara, PSDP, already arrived in Molmol where they were welcomed exuberantly by the parishioners. They too will join Fr. Christopher and Fr. Alito in their mission in PNG.

Before taking their flight in the evening, the PSDP sisters invited Fr. Christopher, Fr. Marvin, and other religious to have lunch together with them. An expression of family support and bond, they extended their gratitude and appreciation to Fr. Christopher for bringing the Calabrian spirit in the hinterlands and remote areas of Papua New Guinea. They hope that in the future, the PSDP sisters will be together with him in sowing the seeds of the gospel among the locals of Papua New Guinea.

As they bid adieu to Fr. Christopher, they have nothing but hopeful wishes and prayers that may the Lord accompany him always in his missionary journey and be an instrument of God’s love to all the people he serves.
