Retreat: “A Moment of Conversion”
Cagayan de Oro city: St. John Calabria, our beloved founder, reminds us with tenderness, “The annual retreat is a powerful moment of conversion.” Faithful to his words, this moment with the Lord is a grace-filled time for us to reflect upon our lives in the light of the Word of God. Done with a spirit of faith and abandonment to the Divine Providence, this spiritual activity becomes an avenue for us to be faithful to the call of the Lord and cultivate a habit of personal prayer.
Participated mainly by the religious of the congregation together with some novices and postulants who comprises the first batch of the annual retreat, Fr. Mateo Sanchez, SJ, facilitated this moment of encounter with the Lord by sharing some points for reflection about the “Lord’s Prayer” coupled with some insights from Ignatian Spirituality. Held at Lumbia Novitiate House, San Isidro, Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro city from May 16 to 22, the retreat furthermore enables them to recognize in every moment of their lives the active presence of God, our Father, who never fails in taking care of his own children.
