Juniorate Formation on Human Sexuality

Taytay: As indicated in their annual program, the religious juniors were gathered today at Calabrian Formation School (CFS) community for a formation on human sexuality. The said topic was elaborated by Rev. Fr. Angelo Legal, OSB. In the morning of this day, he first gave an overview on the developmental stages of a human person in the perspective of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Then, he gave some activities to the junior religious in which they were asked to draw a tree and a mandala. Later on, they were asked to explain its meaning.

In the afternoon, he dealt more closely on the nature of the evangelical vow of chastity. He traced not only its origin and development but he also stressed its relevance especially as we are now engulfed in a context where issues on sexual abuses rampage some priests and religious. Hence, he challenged the junior religious to be more prayerful and to strive to live out in its fullness the evangelical vow of chastity all for the glory of God and the establishment of God’s reign on earth.
