Feast Day of St. John Calabria and Inauguration of Calabrian Vocation Year

October 8, 2017

Taytay: This day is a celebration filled with joy and gratitude to the Provident God for giving us the feast of St. John Calabria, the patron of the Calabrian Family – Brothers and Sisters. It started with a morning’s exhibit in San Lorenzo grounds. The exhibit displays the vocation and mission of St. John Calabria and the Opera he inaugurated.

In the afternoon at 4 PM, there was the solemn procession around San Lorenzo Ruiz community, and at 5 PM was the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided by the Delegate Fr. Reynaldo Olan, concelebrated by Calabrian Fathers, and participated by our Calabrian brothers and sisters, and also by different religious orders and congregations, lay collaborators, friends and benefactors of Calabrian family.

In the evening after Mass, everybody enjoyed the prepared programme and dinner fellowship at Calabrian Formation School Court.

Along with this celebration marks also the beginning of the Calabrian Vocation Year that shall culminate next year 2018 on the feast of St. John Calabria. For this reason, the Calabrian Family asks everyone to pray for more religious and priestly vocations to the Church and to the Congregation.
