"Palm Sunday"
Taytay: As the whole Church enters into the HOLY WEEK we begin our celebration with the Palm Sunday. Officially called "Palm Sunday of the Passion of our Lord," today the Church commemorates Christ's triumphant entry to Jerusalem, nearing His full entry and submission to His Passion (Suffering), Death and Resurrection.Christ's entry in Jerusalem riding a donkey fulfills the prophecy of prophet Zechariah, "Exult greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem! Behold: your king is coming to you, a just savior is he. Humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." (Zech 9:9)The Church uses the palms to remember this episode of Christ's life, and the palms are blessed to signify Christ's victory which He has achieved through His Passion, Death and Resurrection (Source: 100% Katolikong Pinoy)
