A Talk on Human Trafficking

Cagayan de Oro City: The sun briskly shines today. The sea breeze here in Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro city, reminds many that indeed it’s already summer. Coupled with these are some families, youth and children who are enjoying the splash of the sea; notwithstanding, the onlookers who seem to mull on its dark bluish color while hearing the yell and laughter of playful children.

However, as for the children of the Calabrian Children’s Foundation, the weather becomes conducive for hearing a talk on Human Trafficking as delivered by Post. Jeson Martinez. Having attended a three-day seminar last year by Balaod Mindanaw Inc. (Balay Alternative Legal Advocates for Development in Mindanaw, Inc.) at Chali Beach Resort, Cagayan de Oro city, this talk becomes an avenue for him to share what he has learned and enables him to advance the vision of Balaod Mindanaw that marginalized groups like our children may be legally empowered through paralegal formation and capacity building in having an “access to justice, gender equality, and resource tenure improvement in the context of active peoples’ participation in governance.”

After his talk, everyone gathers around the table for a sumptuous lunch. Having got their fill, it is now the time of the children to enjoy the luring beauty of the sea and splash around.
